Things to Do in Rio Rancho, NM

If you’re looking for amazing Rio Rancho fun, keep reading!

During the almost 2 years that I’ve been living in the ABQ area, I will confess to not going to the area for food or entertainment. After researching this article, I now have over a dozen places that I’m excited to share with you.

A little history of Rio Rancho is that it was incorporated in 1981. It is named the City of Vision and it is the third largest and one of the fastest growing cities in NM. Located north of Albuquerque and west of the Rio Grande, Rio Rancho boasts amazing restaurants, pubs, the Santa Ana Casino and a 7,000 seat multi-purpose arena called the Santa Ana Star Center.

The Arts/Local Business
While the local Rio Rancho Arts Association is currently looking for a location to open an Art Gallery / Art Center (donations accepted), there are art-learning projects by several RR organizations. There is also an upcoming Arts & Crafts Show scheduled for August 12, 2017. For more information on these opportunities and events, contact the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce.

In 2015, several Rio Rancho firemen and their wives opened a local business. The Loft Boutique is a consignment store. Take a look at the reviews and stop by if you happen to be in the area. Support your local community, while finding a great deal.

When compared to the general population of the State, RR is quite unique in several ways. For example, while most of the state is Democrat, this area is quite Republican. RR is also unique in the high percentage of residents that have relocated from out of state to this city. Even though the city is very young, the level of growth that it has endured in such a short amount of time is very impressive.

Hope you enjoyed the list of fun things to do in Rio Rancho. A big thank to all of you who answered my ad and helped me put this post together for everyone to enjoy!
