Skip the movies and check out these FREE ABQ dance classes

Before the, “I have two left feet, “I can’t dance,” and “I’m a man, I don’t dance” phrases that you have said over the years, and ultimately convinced yourself about why you don’t dance begin attacking your non-dancing brain, remember that no one is born dancing. That is a fact.
Dancing is a learned activity that will yield you a lifetime of enjoyment, just like riding a bike. As children, most of us were taught how to ride a bike, as an almost right of passage during childhood. Dancing is equally fun. It is equally healthy, yet this activity is sadly not nurtured in our society as it is in other cultures around the world.

Let’s consider what you did for fun the last month. Did you go to the movies?

Did you happily enjoy your massive calorie intake of overpriced ‘golden’ buttery corn, excessive sugar overload intake, sitting in the dark, being told to be quiet for a few hours, for a whopping $15 a ticket? Our society definitely nurtures this activity.

Here are some FREE and fun dancing activities happening the remainder of the month, to give you a few options to sitting around:

There are many other events that charge between $5 to $10 cover, but this is a good start on FREE dancing fun in Albuquerque. (Make sure to check back frequently for more FREE classes' dates and times)

On a personal note from your writer: I love to dance, obviously, but I want to stress the importance of knowing that showing up alone is how I started dancing.

The classes are done on a rotational basis, where everyone is able to dance with each person in the class. It is strange how classes always seem to have enough men and women to learn with. Also know that some couples don’t rotate. They stay together and learn together. It is a win-win for all.

Finally, a word to the men, the only thing sexier than a man who can dance is a man willing to learn to dance.

Let the dancing-learning fun begin!
